A few years ago, fans revolted when Disney started to remake live-action versions of their beloved movies. Was it because it was changing, or was it because it was something they had held sacred to their movie upbringing? While it might have come from a good place, the anger shown by fans over these new live-action movies forgets what makes Disney so unique to kids. Disney creates films promoting imagination and the belief that following your dreams can lead to happiness. All kids should feel those feelings, and these new live-action Disney films usher in a new wave of fans that can enjoy the same characters with an upgraded cinematic experience.
The latest installment from Disney is Peter Pan, directed by David Lowery. This 2023 release stars Alexander Molony as Peter Pan, Ever Anderson as Wendy, and Jude Law as Captain Hook. While the newest installment features slight changes from the 1953 release, it follows a similar story.
